ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Jerome T. Consiglio lived his life by the guiding principles of dedication to hard work, pursuit of higher education, devotion to the Catholic faith and commitment to family. In honor of these commitments, his family established this scholarship in 2011 to award an OLGC parishioner who also embodies these fundamental principles.
The annual Jerome T. Consiglio scholarship for 2025 will be an award of $1,000.00. The award is intended to assist with the costs of college tuition, room and board, or other educational expenses. Scholarship recipients are eligible for one year of scholarship support. The scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable grant. Scholarship monies not used during one academic year are not transferable to the following academic year.
CONDITIONS FOR ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for the Jerome T. Consiglio Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolling as a 1st year student in a US accredited institution of higher education for Fall 2025.
- Have a grade-point average of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 (or the equivalent).
- Be a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien.
- Be an established member of the OLGC parish.
- Applicants must not be related to the Consiglio family.
- All fields of study are eligible.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to be complete, an application must include the following:
- Completed online application form.
- An official school transcript with 2024/2025 grades as available.
- ACT or SAT scores, or other entrance examination scores as applicable.
- Letter of recommendation/character reference from a teacher or counselor (to be submitted by the author.)
- Letter of recommendation from OLGC faculty, priest, staff, volunteers or established parishioner (to be submitted by the author.)
- Authors of recommendation letters must not be related to the applicant.
APPLICATION WINDOW
Scholarship application forms will be available for download at the bottom of this page between April 1 - May 15, 2025. All applications must be received by May 15, 2025.
PROCESS FOR APPLYING
Once downloaded, review the application and request your letters of recommendation. Please ask the authors to submit their letters according to the instructions below.
Applicants:
- Complete all portions of the Student Application.
- Include your required documents as listed above.
- Submit your application via email as instructed on the application form.
Authors of Letters of Recommendation:
- Each letter of recommendation must be submitted by the author.
- If available, compose letters on official letterhead (optional.)
- Save letters as a PDF file.
- Send the file via email to: jtcscholarship@gmail.com
- In the SUBJECT field of your email, please include your student’s name and the word LETTER. Ex: Jane Doe - Letter
All applications and letters of recommendation must be received by May 15, 2025.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The JTC scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic performance, field of study, career objectives, and the potential, commitment, and abilities applicants have demonstrated that would enable them to make significant contributions to their chosen field of study.
APPLICATION REVIEW AND ANNOUNCEMENT
All applicants will receive notification of their results via email in late May. The Scholarship Award will be presented in person at the OLGC Baccalaureate Mass, Sunday June 1, 2025.
